2006 D Brown Nickel, Planchet Error Or PMD?

I know that you can find nickels struck on cent planchets but arent they normally smaller in size than a normal nickel?

I put this next to a normal one for comparison, I guess it could be just dirty but it seems pretty uniformed. Maybe something spilled on it? Sat in some Coke or Pepsi for a while? I rubbed a toothpick across it to see if anything came off but nothing did.

Let me know what you think? Thanks!

Oh, Both weigh the same. So no difference in size or thickness or weight.

Whats a surefire way to tell if its a planchet error or some type of Post mint damage? Id appreciate any tips on the subject. Thanks again!

Gotcha, so if it was a planchet error there would be some weight or size differential right?
