Whats CAC mean on a PCGS Slab?

    Topic

I was browsing the 1909 s vdb's on heritage and some of them had CAC on a green sticker. ?????

Also would you go for a higher MS in brown or a lower MS in Red? I actually love deep brown Lincolns so I think I could pass up the red for a higher ms state.

Just wondering your thoughts on the subject.

    Thanks!

The cac is a company that second looks at third party grading companys decision on a coin, i believe the green sticker means they approve, or a possible upgrade! On the grading for your vdb, your preference, and budget are the biggest factors, I also like the high grade's as a red/brown,and it saves you some money, and some are just beauty's! Enjoy

In short, from my practical perspective- CAC is a way to certify your slabbed coins.

CAC came into being because of the discrepancy between coins graded the same, and differences between opinions of TPGs. Someone thought this would level the playing fields for the buyer.

Do you know what actually works, better than slabbing your slabbed coins? LEARNING.

LEARN TO GRADE COINS. I work with clients who have ridiculous amounts of money to burn. Many of them prefer CAC PCGS holders. The reason for this is simple. While these folks were out making their riches, they failed to educate themselves in their own hobby. Paying extra money for a 3rd and 4th opinion won't save you anything. ONLY by getting in and getting dirty in your field will you actually learn these subjects.

I'm not knocking anyone for paying extra money for an opinion. But when you can arrive at your own well formed opinions, you don't need a slabbed slab.

And for the record- if a TPG holder can be counterfeited, how tough do you think faking a hologram sticker is????

JUST LEARN. Nobody's going to give you all the answers, one must discover for themselves.
