I don't think I have seen the question asked before but......Do you think the mint would have used the same broken punch in '79 for more than one denominations MM.
The reason I ask is because of this and many other '79 Dimes and Cents I have seen with he same issue.
Great question for which I have no answer, BUT I would guess they did use the same punch for other denominations. Why not? Unless the denominational dies are made of different materials requiring a different type of material on the punch, but I don't think so. Who is our resident MINT expert here?

I got to visit the Philadelphia mint last week, was very interesting.... That broken punch has showed up on quarter's, dimes, cents, I even think I saw a half with that lower break, anymore I just throw them back....
