I came across this in an assortment of junk picked up recently and it appears to be an unphotoed item in my Cherrypickers Guide, 5th edition vol. 1. Does anyone know how to submit this item or if one of the contributers checkes in here could advise me that would be great. The coin itself is a bit rough but it almost appears the date is punched 3x to the south on all four digits. It can be seen nicely in hand but shows faintly in the images above. DDO on the amulet to the north. "In God We Trust" is faint but I really want to see doubling there with my magnifier but it could be my wishful imagination. Thanks All Anthony

This is the normal Wide Date punch for 1869. This does not appear to be a repunched date. The condition of the coin would make it almost impossible to tell but I am thinking MD or die deterioration or a combination of both.Bob Piazza

How about ground damage as it looks like someone found it while metal detecting. My poor eyesight could not make it out to good. Still an oldie and a keeper.Comment
