Kennedy halves

Does any one have a short list of varieties and errors (other than the usual suspects, i.e. DD, RPM, silver planchet, Clash etc.) to look for on the Kennedy half dollar? My bank just got $500.00's worth from a single source. In my mind it is probably a collector but it may also be just a hoarder who got tired of having them (or needed the cash). I picked up $50.00 of it just to look and opened one roll so far. Most are well circulated and the only anom is what looks like MD on one of them. Don't know if I should bother at all. Is it woth messing with?

Thanks for the links Lucien. The earliest one in the 2 rolls I've looked at is 1970.

I think you are in the right ballpark for notable errors which could be 1965-1975. If they are mostly circulated clad coins.

1970 is 40% silver..you got a winner already !

That depends on the amount of coins within the years 65-70 that he gets in the purchase. It could be possible to be ahead of the game. It takes only one good discovery piece.

If I can get silver for face value, I figure I'm ahead. My post office sold me $33 FV of halves this summer and I got seven 40% silvers out of that....a $5.50 profit per coins makes it well worth rerolling the rest.
