Cool River Bank Find!!

Hey Friends,
Took my son hunting today near Dix River at a public wildlife area. We were walking the river bank when I looked down and saw laying right on top of the ground this 58 Cal Minie Ball from the Civil War. We were about 3-4 miles from a town that was a large supply depot dring the war. I had found lots of relics metal detecting around that town , but never have I found one just looking down on the ground!!!

Nice find as I used to do allot of metal detecting in my younger days but never had a chance to find Civil War era relics, only WWI and WWII era. Thanks for sharing!

Nice find... Imagine that laying on the ground for 150 years and never found... That's awesome... Some soldier dropped that from his bag and never knew it!!!

Cool find, and if it was along the river bank it may have just become uncovered. I found a bunch of fossils on the Mississippi after some heavy rain while I was deer hunting last year.
