    ASE 25th Anniversary Set ...

It took me 2 hours and 50 minutes, but just purchased 2 of these sets off of the Gov Mint site. Anyone else make the buy?

    I did...

Started to get my order through the website at about 12.10. Every page was slow or didn't load. I started to call the toll free number as well, which was busy. Finally was able to process the order through the website and received order confirmation in my email at 12.40 so about 30 minutes to order the set.

Never was able to get through on the phone.

Poor planning on the Mint's part.

Overwhelmed as I did a quick checkout and got cut off the website and still trying to see if they confirmed my order.

It took 1 and 1/2 hours but i finally got my order in for 3 sets. Confirmed via email.

Buzz is that this will be the fastest sell out ever.

Congrats to those who were able to get these. I didn't try as I don't collect them, but I had a friend who had nightmares trying to get them, and I'm not sure if she ever succeeded.

I finally got my order confirmation number.

You bet this will be a sell out and wait until someone comes up with a nice graded set for sale and it won't be for $600.00 either...LOL

Mint is telling people not to give out there confirmation numbers as some one can get around the system. These products come out of an outsourced contracted distribution center not affiliated with the mint for those who do not know.

                sold out in 4 hours

                that was fast.

the stupid web site was so slow that it registered 3 orders for me....2 of which were cancelled because they exceed the 5 coin limit.

the third order is ok....i called and talked to a rep. to make sure.

                i think i am good to go.....PHEW!!!!

I was going to go all in for the 5 maximum, but decided to just purchase 2. Originally I was going to buy 5, keep 2 and re-sell 3 .... but my conscience got the best of me. I'd like to think the 3 I didn't purchase will go to another collector, and not someone just looking to make a quick buck on eBay.

I have no problem people making a quick buck. God bless them. For me, I'm a collector. One is all I wanted. But these people selling them off so quick for that quick buck might in the long run, being cutting themselves short. It too early to tell. But if you think of it this way, only 100,000 sold. That's about what some football stadiums hold. So if every person in that stadium got 1, that's all there is in the world. Now that kind of puts it in perspective . The real value will be in a few months, IMHO .

I hope you get that 70 Joe !! That's 3 or 4 grand. I did receive mine today. I left it in the mint box. I have been really following these. I'll leave it in the box until I decide, to grade or not.
