    December 7 1941

    Hi
Today is an important day in history. It is Pearl Harbor Day. The day in 1941 when the US entered WWII. A day of infamy My father and father-in-law were there - both have been gone many years now. But I think it's important to remember our history. Next time you pick up a coin dated 1941, maybe one of those brave people spent it the night before.

Roger, that's great context for a penny. I just found a 1941 yesterday. Thanks for the thought.

Good one Roger, and surprisingly they did make a pretty big deal of it on our local news station this morning.

Thank you Roger, what a great way to pay tribute.
History was always one of my best subjects because of coins. Amazing what you can recall when it's tied to something you love so dearly.

It would be interesting to know if a 1941 Lincoln was spent by someone a day prior to giving his life for his country. Makes you think of the history and the sacrifices. Thanks for the thought.

On Dec 8th 1941 my Father in Law,Don Reid wrote "Remember Pearl Harbor" and then performed it with Sammy Kaye. All royalties for 50 years going to the Pearl Harbor Museum. God Bless all those who served.
