    Computer issues

Still based from the intital crash . I found my win 7 key and after running this months as "not genuine" i found my code that came with my win 7 professional CD. I typed it in and it says theres an error. What gives? I checked and its correct. What do i do? I dont want to spend 150 or more for a new code when i have a code right here for my CD.

Then I think Wendell's advice might be best...do a reinstall. One little handy thing to have around is Hiran's Boot CD if you ever get in trouble. You can boot with it and it has it's own mini XP operating system, plus a ton of utilitys to fix almost anything. Downloadable free off the internet.

Sounds like you may have a bad spot on the hard drive... Needs a low level format... That way windows will never try to use the bad area again... Make sure you copy or back up everything!!!

My buddy says this happens all the time...what you have to do is :

Call Microcrap and they will fix it.

I miss windows 3.11 you put it in you run it and bad things dont happen nearly as often. The on and off switch's purpose was to turn on and off the PC. Sigh modern technology why must you mock me.

Hey all, Microcrap was little help. They said they could get a new key for this BUT it wouldnt solve my hard drive or video issues. That is a hardware and not a soft ware issue ( how the video isnt is beyond me). My sub scores are good except for the video that went from a 6.2 to a 3.5 and not much is helping that.

I need a new memory card to back up everything since its all on my PC ( 16 gigs isnt gonna cut it ). I would use my new PC back up thing but then Ill be backing up all my issues along with the files I need. SO yeah that isnt gonna be a good option. Ill be buying a 32 Gig card this week and gonna back up everything, Gonna go to staples also get a new hard drive and have the Staples tech team at it. Or do you think at that price just say the hell with it and buy a new computer for 100 more. ( this POS was 478 at walmart and they are no use trying to find a warrenty card. )

It should be a simple fix. Defrag and driver update/rollbacks(sometimes an update breaks it) could solve the issues. If you decide to buy a computer, I highly suggest building it yourself. You'd save money and get only what you need that way. :-)

Also external harddrives are cheap enough to be a n affordable backup option. As stated before, if you have problems with authentication of you windows install, I quick call to Microsoft will fix that problem. :-)

Agree with build yourself. Best way to go, that is if building a desktop machine. If you go that route I get all my stuff from newegg. Best and cheapest out there and great quality and customer care. Must have built 10 by now and for the most part never have issues.

did not read whole thread but you did update your video drivers right? Went to site of manufacturer of video card and confirmed you have the newest drivers?

If you need any help pm me. I have some fairly good computer knowledge on builds and fixing if broken.

Well the computer crashed again and again I can't get onto it never buy an aver NEVER. This has been the worst computer I've ever had. I think I'm gonna just buy a new HD and let staples build it up with program this trying to deal with companies for codes just isn't worth the outcomes I get. I'll check my phone from time to time but I won't be available as much. Book progress ha haulted too till this gets resolved.
