    1908 Indian Head Penny

I just gave in and had to buy this penny. A little surprise for my son to add to his collection

Here are some fun facts for the same year. Enjoy!

The average life expectancy was 47 years. (lol wow I would have only about 14 yrs left!)

Only 14 percent of the homes had a bathtub. (I would be part of the percentage for sure)

Only 8 percent of the homes had a telephone. (since wireless energy had already been discovered I would have my own secret communication wireless cell phone cups)

There were only 8,000 cars and only 144 miles
    Of paved roads.

The maximum speed limit in most cities was 10 mph. (I would still be a reckless driver)

The tallest structure in the world was the Eiffel Tower!

The average wage in 1908 was 22 cents per hour

The average worker made between $200 and $400 per year

A competent accountant could expect to earn $2000 per year,

Sugar cost four cents a pound.

Eggs were fourteen cents a dozen.

Coffee was fifteen cents a pound.

Most women only washed their hair once a month, and used
Borax or egg yolks for shampoo. (borax is used in many skin care and hair product today as an emulsifier, and can be used to kill cockroaches, personally I would never any product using borax for my body lol, please read your ingredients)

Five leading causes of death were:
    1. Pneumonia and influenza
    2. Tuberculosis
    3. Diarrhea
    4. Heart disease
    5. Stroke

The American flag had 45 stars.

Glad you enjoyed them Actually to answer your question from yesterday... I am listening to an audio book this past week while searching through coins, you would like it. "Entanglement" by Amir D Aczel. However I must warn you it doesn't mix well with wine on a Saturday night lol. (right now he is covering Schrödinger's stupid cat LOL) he should have tested his theories on a duck :P

I decided earlier tonight that about the only thing that goes well when conversing with Bacchus is music. I tried reading and wasn't paying attention at all.
