    Penny crosses...

I about flipped out when I seen these!, The small crosses are all single solid date ranging from 1951D-1959D. The bigger ones have a mixture, however all the lighter stripes on the big ones are all 2011P. This day to the flea market I forgot my loup but then I was thinking... if they've glued these pennies to the picture frame and there are varieties in them, they are probably not worth much now.

It was a bit frustrating. Their booth consisted of ONLY these things.

    This only makes me cringe!

    No Problem

A Milwaukee 1hp grinder will clean em right up.

Usually glue will come off with acetone or alcohol or lacquer thinner!

Hmmm, I may have to take my loop back to that booth tomorrow then. all the wheats looked clean and crisp in the details but brown mostly.

Well I went back and took a gander and the pennies. Nothing too exciting. Minor distortion in some of the 2011P's a couple minor RPM's in the wheats. All the pennies are showing only the obverse so couldn't look for RDV-006's on the 88's or cams on the 92's. Only looked for the die gouge/dent on the obverse of the 2011P to indicate a possible 1DR-001 with no luck. lol Oh well, it was fun to look anyways.

Each small cross was made of the same date but they went from 1951 all the way to 1979(p/d/s). So I spent a good 30 minutes there looking through each small cross and all the bigger crosses.

Made for friendly conversation with people curious as to what I was doing that'd pass by the booth. The only penny anyone ever mentions to me is the 1909 S VDB. I try to explain to people that i'm not looking for a 1909s vdb but i'm looking for varieties, and its always like i'm talking a foreign language to them.
