    Morgan Vam Fans, 1903S

A friend gave me this for a Birthday present yesterday. Says all us "over 50" crowd need to carry a silver dollar. Got it home and found it was a Vam 2 micro mint mark. Very scarce. Top 100 Vam. Had to sell all my silver last spring to keep my head above water, so I didnt have one at all. Could someone give their input on this one? would highly appreciate it. Tom

Wow Tom! According to my Vam Top 100 book, the coin is worth $700 iin VF and $2,900 in XF!!! (prices may be outdated, but it's certaily a better variety). You lucked the heck out!

But wait- that actually looks like the large S, not the small S. (?)

Pretty sure its a small Chris, spacing is right. High up and not centered. Too much space under th S. almost certain. Now I have to figure out the grade and how to sell it. Tom

Nice gift Tom, Sure hope it's the Micro, but it has the looks of the large to me.

But that is good I am always wrong. LOL, leroy has to correct me all the time. Rollemis less than rookie at Vam world forum.

Morgan's ain't my thing, but that looks like a large S to me-possibly altered.

I noticed that. I think what was throwing me was the north/ south orientation. It looks on the high side to me! But than again?! Tom

Ya been collecting coin's for over 25 years So i Have quite the coin collection of everything i could get my mitts on but no gold in my collection only silver and anyother coin that come my way over the years. i owned a 20 dollar gold peice for about a week and turned it into a mint of a 1800's collection of the v-nickel, shield nickel, liberty nickel, and the buffalo nickel--- Capped bust half dollar set 1807-1839--Seated half dollar 1839--1891, Barber half dollar 1892--1915 and cash on top Wow it was the best deal ever...But im hooked on Pennys now and dont know when it will stop. it the cheepest collecting i have ever done and i love it!! Thinking about turning a few sets out online or to a priv. collector that been buggin me for years and puting it to my new hobbie!!! But thanks for the comp. Your friend,RJH
