A new find on a coin that I have had for 15 years

I am putting an educational exhibit together for the summer FUN show and started looking through some of the Walking Liberty halves that I accumulated over the years. This 1946-P surprised the heck out of me and it had been laying around in my cabinet for 15 years.

    FS-50-1946-101 and also now TDC-50c-1946-01

TDC stands for Typical Die Clash. What this means that taking all the die clashes that occurred for a given denomination in a certain year or series, it is the one that is typically found. The ADC is the designation for Atypical Die Clash or the one that is not typically found in certain year or series for a denomination.

Oh my, that is such a pretty design, and to get a 'two-fer' on it! I can't imagine a nicer surprise. Congratulations BJ.

                Nice find BJ!
Life is not about greatness but on the impact of good onto others. It is a matter of how much one shines. Explains why I like shiny coins.

BEAUTIFUL find and coin. I agree with Ken, my favorite of all coins is the Walking Liberty.

I've found quite a few DDO/DDR by going back into old stashes, you know, not having anything else to look at.
