    1900 Indian Head

    This Indian Head Penny is kinda weird. The pic of the first one is the one in question. Its kinda like a silvery color and not copper color. It weighs 2.88 grams where the second one weighs 3.03 grams. The second pic is just to show the difference

      That's weird, I don't know what it is. There is a slight chance of an off metal, but I don't know what other metal they were using at the mint that would be that much lighter.... Is it the same diameter and thickness?

        Look to me that it may have been previous cleaned, and th ecolor is a result of that old cleaning.

          I agree with Bob on the likelihood of cleaning, variances in weight for coins of this era were common. A difference of just over 1/10 of a gram isn't indicative of anything significant.
