A fee-free ebay like auction site

    Hi everyone,
What do you think of : www.webstore.com there are no fees, and it seems to work well. I have been using it without any issues for a few months, and sold some stuff. Just thought I would let you guys know about it, since it is free, unlike "fee-bay" lol

Alex, there are literally thousand of the auction type sites on the web. I have bought from a few of them, but quite honestly, they scare me a bit. They do not have the security and protection measures in place like eBay.

True, I can understand that. Some one should start an auction site for LCR members, of course I guess we sort of use ebay

Ebay will never be unseated as the top auction site. They control the market and offer the best protection and security. Any other site is just a waste of time and will have a very limited audience.

I agree, Ebay will always be #1. They are the #9 website in the world as far as traffic. Google, of course, is #1. There are tons of people on webstore though. I forget where they rank, but is higher than I would expect...

              Completely agree with this statement.

Hard to beat eBay...and contrary to what people say about fees, the fees are not really any worse than any other good auction sites....and actually cheaper than many. I think the term "FeeBay" is not deserved.

Alex, you need to investigate this site more thoroughly. I think you will find that very little items, especially coins, sell. You can also tell how little traffic the site get by the amount the starting bids are. Most are set to where if at least one bid is placed it will cover the seller. In a true auction setting the starting amount is much lower, because the seller knows there will be bids placed. Look carefully. You will see a starting price of around $5 on most coins that would start at .99 on eBay. As a buyer, how can that be good?

yeah ebay charges to much , even Teletrade charges you next to nothing and they do all the work for you. You just send them in your coins , and wait. EBay the sellers do all the work.and its pretty much used by many as checking on the average market values , or realistic value of almost anything .,fees and their paypal monopoly, many sellers sell below market OR prices are driven down by oversatuation. At least it does cater to buyers and as long as there are buyers there will be sellers .

They for sure over charge.. They take a nice chunk of what belongs to you and then take more thru paypal because they own that too.
So they double dip . Lately been free pictures or listings but they take alot with the final value fee.

I think you're missing one point....for a $2990 coin...they collected 4% from me, and 15% from the buyer. Although many sellers only perceive a 4% fee...the truth is that they collected 19% of what the buyer paid. Between eBay and Paypal fees, I only pay 12%.

It should be much less. There should be a buyer premium and not a seller. Plus the maximum final fee is $250. So if you selling over the price of tjhat fee then your getting the better end. But if you sell under then then your getting screwed, twice. So really you would pay 12%. It would be $250 plus 3%. 9% of your $2990 coin would of been $270 but it was only $250 because that is the max.

That's my point...it really doesn't matter if the buyer or seller pay the fees...it all comes off the final price .

Ebay and paypal fees combined are a lot less than other ways to sell your wares. Especially when you add in the amount of traffic. I only think you can complain if you are not very experienced in retail especially online retail.
