Do you mean melt value or collectors value? Here is a melt value calculator for silver coins. http://www.coinflation.com/coins/sil...alculator.html

Thanks, but I'm asking what a wholesaler would pay for bullion quality coins.

I assume that is per ounce?

The prices above are the dollar amounts that would be paid for each dollar of coin (90% and 40%).

For example, if you had 4 1964 quarters ($1.00 face value), you would be paid $20.40.

Tons of links on the INET concerning the pricing on silver coins. They are know as junk silver. Here is another link that may help.

The value of a silver coin's melt is determined by the current spot. Coinflation.com is a good resource. One thing to consider is that some dealers pay less for coin less than EF and will weigh the coin because some of the silver has worn off.

So it's based on the grade of each coin. Just to add another dimension of smelt coin value.

Please be aware coinflation is NOT a set in stone reference. Mathematics on silver coin calculations based on the seller can be very very different. This is generally from an ongoing debate on the effect of age and wear of silver coins reducing the weight. Wholesale is also a very relative term.

People also often mix up silver weight value versus weight of the actual coin.

That's why I added a disclaimer after I mentioned coinflation.com. Their melt values are for coins with little or no wear.

You're right and I find it fascinating because when one starts conducting transactions in the hundreds of troy ounces, the variation in math calculations makes a huge difference in value versus actual value versus actual sale price. There can be hundreds of dollars or more transferring in favor on either side based on this variation.

Yeah, when you run into a 5 or even 6 figure collection even a 1% figure can mean hundreds or even a couple thousand of dollars.

I like to sell my silver on eBay as it usually brings slightly more than the coinflation price. Even with the 12% in fees, it's more than my local dealers pay.
