Ocean City MD and most of New Jersey were hit real hard. I fear that NY will be flooded badly and parts of PA as well. How is Jolly Roger doing. Anyone heard from him lately. Anyone from Connecticut or Mass we wish to hear from you if you have power, let us know if you are OK. Here in MD we are having winds gusting up to 45 mph and very light rain.

Lots of cleaning after the storm surge pushed river/ocean water into the storm drain and into our basement. The place smells like Mr. Clean. I'm tired - had to move everything out of the way, now after cleaning, I have to move it all back.

NJ got hit really hard. Some of the images I am seeing from friends on Facebook show areas a bit closer to the water with serious devastation. Hopefully forum members are doing ok...

Thanks for the update, Jason. It is quite a relief to hear that you are ok! What an unbelievable and historic storm this was! I listened to several meteorologists break downs of all the factors that made up this storm and it was mind boggling! This event was as rare as a 1970-S DDO #1 and that's not a good thing. What times we live in! Best of luck returning to normal everyone!

I am glad to see that you are alive and well Jason. We all fear the elements and give thanks that we have life and limb to see another day. The hardest job is ahead and the cleanup will take some time so we have to be patient. I did pray that we would all be spared and I think that we all survived. I'll be remembering this for years to come. Thanks everyone for checking in and for the updates.

Glad everyone made it though ok. NJ got hit but we were pretty lucky. Beyond the trees coming down that I have been hauling out of the yard we only had some minor house damage that I have already repaired. Power out all around us but we still have it.

Jason--glad you guys are all ok. I don't want to sound alarmist, but I just saw a news article that you might already be aware of. Flood water was tested in NYC and found to be full of bacteria. Suggestion was to really clean well and to use bleach on any surfaces wherever external water entered the home to finally kill it all. Toss out any canned foods and other material that it came in contact with. Not sure what entered your place but be extra careful--especially with the kids there.
