you normally would have no more than 6 ones....and trust me 6 quarters about the weight of a $1 coin...in your pocket...not that much extra weight

"Those pizza delivery boys and girls are going to have to carry bags of dollar coins around with them."

    I don't think so..... for every drop off.... say 4 pizza drop offs.. 4 times 4 coins or 16 $1 coins.....then $5, $10, and $20 bills?

coins as a whole are less valuable than bills...when was the last time a $1 coin circulated heavily? 2007? 2000? 1979? 1976? 1922? 1878?.....our coins that circulate are the quarter..nickle dime and cent...not even the half is out there....bills are more valuable than most of our coins...I do not think... the use of $1 coins will create "inadvertent inflation"

and it will save the BEP money...not the mint....not counting for different ink paper now.. all bills have..paper...and 2 plates...be it a $1 or a $100...the U.S. gov gets $99 more for a $100 than a $1..and I don't think the cost is that much higher...

"Think about the cost of shipping coins versus bills to armored courier companies. ".... coins would be heavier and take up more room....but the up side...reprint every $1 bill every 6 months to 2 years...or mint coins that last 20+ years?
and trust me there are a lot of $1 coins sitting in the fed reserve banks right now....

"He still feels they look too much like quarters"...look at Canada...with a $1 and a $2 (which is bi metallic)..works for them

don't get me wrong...I COLLECT $1 BILLS... but it could save the U.S. gov money....stopping the cent... that would do it too.
me... keep the cent... give up the bill...when my son's(age 17) son has kids...it will all be electronic..and we won't have coins to collect anyways.....LOL

I may be among the minority, but I can't remember the last time I had a dollar in my pocket, or tipped a delivery guy with with physical money. Everything I do now is by plastic. I add my tips to the credit/debit card receipt. I think this trend is growing. I would bet that a large percentage of delivery driver's tips are now collected this way. Now as for the "dancing" ladies....I see everyone's point.
