    1988 D Quarter RPM?

I typically don't look at anything other than cents but thought why not; it was only 3 quarters and a dime. lol

At first I thought this was md until I saw what appears to be a split serif on the upper portion of the mint mark. Do you think it's an rpm?

I think you may have something there. I see the split, and possibly one on the bottom serif as well. Something for James Wiles to have a look at maybe? Circulation wear is making it hard to tell 100%...

My opinion is that the "split" you are seeing is a contact mark. I think it is MD and circulation wear/damage.

I would worry that it's clad coinage die wear or isolated MD. The doubling has to be taken into the full context of the obverse die. The split, as Will noted, might be a contact mark. It might not hurt to inquire with Wiles or Wexler, but they might just have you send it.

I thought about that definitely with the die wear. It why I tend to not look at anything besides cents. I set it aside and may send it in. I wasn't sure if there were any listings in the cpg or not as I only have the first one that ends at 5 cents.

          Thanks for your opinions!
