It's very odd and unusual cases like this that get thrown out of the 'averaging of scores' come time to find the value of a gas plating bubble. This is a very unusual gas bubble coin, thus the moon money for same. But we all know that the 'typical' gas bubble coin is a couple of dollars and to someone who's really just interested in having a decent example. Most people would just find their own for a penny because they are all over the place as a general rule.
Once again, though - this one is odd. It is unusual, thus it brought a nice premium. It probably helped that there were nice images and the coin is a nice, bright BU coin.Charles D. Daughtrey, NLG, Author, "Looking Through Lincoln Cents"
