Token of paper

I found this inside an old piano I took apart along with a VF 1920 S cent. Someone a bit older than I am might be able to tell me what it purpose was. The TV's were made from 1952-1959.

The Halo Light TVs came out in the 50's. It was state of the art back then. I am not sure, but I am thinking these paper discs were used some way in either protecting the socket, or helped protect the vacuum tubes in those televisions. I remember seeing these discs before, but it was so long ago.
