    dime error?

I spend very little time with other denoms, except for checking my pocket change once in a while. This caught my attention. The pattern on the rim seems to follow the same spacing as the reeding on the edge. Coincidence? Damage? Struck-through? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Thanks.

I have seen this before, and on dimes to boot. I have been told that it is the impression of the edge of another reeded coin.

That was my first thought, Bob. Almost like a bag mark.

I've always wondered if this could be a case of the collar clashing with the die. I find them all of the time. I bet Mr. Diamond knows.

Hey Will, is it incuse? it looks raised to me. Although I have learned that with most incuse marks that are damage, there is usually a raised area created because of it.
