We need snow real bad in Colorado. The city with the state high temp " 51 " in Colorado Tuesday was Durango which is in ski country. The Wolf Creek Ski area which has a normal packed base of ~120" this time of year is ~50".
That being said the Weather people are saying we are going to get 24" to 36" in the mountains starting tonight.
I'm not a skier, but we need snow to fill our dried up reservoirs.
Good judgment comes from experience, and a lotta that comes from bad judgment.
Washington has been extremely dry this year, it'd only snowed once, less than a couple of inches.
We came home from California with several inches on the ground, but apparently it was just getting started. The area we live in is in a valley between large hills/mountains. When Spokane gets 3 inches of snow, we get 8! It's still snowing hard, we've got over a foot now and it's supposed to dip below 0 degrees soon. Winter finally got here!
These pictures are for John's (Onecent1909) wife Peggy, who has never experienced snow coming down:
Lots of fish Alex! But the lake is only 25 feet deep with a single hole that goes to 35 feet... it helps to study the underwater topography, I can't wait for spring time!

Now, that's more like what we get. Apparently, it's headed east as our local weather guys are predicting mayhem tonight and tomorrow....exactly why I have always owned a 4x4 SUV.
