New $100 Blue strip error or manipulation?

As you can see the blue strip has pieces missing. Could this be an error, or has someone pulled it off? I would think that the note would have be made well enough that the strip could not be removed, but I remember pulling the old strip out of an older bill before. There is a spot where I lifted a small portion on the lower right side of the largest piece of the strip below where the feather touches. I don't have any more new ones or I would try it on another to compare.

That is a correct strip -- two areas open -- note the date running through the top. Just looked a a picture from the Secret Service and yours is right
