    Money Museum in Colorado Springs

The local TV station said the visits to the local Museums were free on Saturday the 27th. One of the Museums on the list was the Money Museum in Colorado Springs. So I made a visit today as I hadn’t been there in a few years. Turned out it wasn’t free but I went anyway.
One of the Numismatic Instructors, Sam Gelberd, gave a demo on how coins are made from the set up on the lower level. Sam and I had talked about errors & varieties earlier when I ask him about displays the might have in the museum. Here is a planchet and a couple of errors Sam struck in his demo.
If you are in Colorado Springs put the Money Museum on your bucket list.

Yes with the flash turned off. I didn't take my camera this time but will next time. They rotate exhibits and it would be neat if they did one on errors & varieties.
