I sent the 2014P 10c Obv/Rev unabraded clash, that I recently posted, out to have a full obv/rev pic taken... The last update from the P.O. was 1045 p.m. March 3... It was suppose to be delivered on March 5th... WAAAAAAAAAAA!!!

Ive been having trouble myself with post office. That's one of the reasons I stopped selling on ebay because it seemed when it hit Johnstown PA area stuff would magically disappear. I wouldn't put it pass them there is a thief working there.

I had a few nightmares with coins but the strangest P.O. story has to do with a map purchase. $7.95 for the map -- including shipping. From FL to IL... They shipped the next day.It made it from FL to KY, It sat for 10 days. I contacted the vender (very nice). We waited one more weekend and then he shipped a replacement. That arrived in 4 days..... With the tube containing the FIRST map rubberbanded to the replacement tube....

Amazing how some of that post office stuff works. I have shipped literally hundreds of items from eBay and except for the occasional bowling match they have with heavier packages, all mail has been delivered.

So youre a bowler? I bowl too in a league just bowled in a tourney this weekend and got hurt pretty bad. Apparently a piece of candy stuck on bottom of my sliding shoe and I slipped and fell just before releasing my ball. I fell real hard on right knee and cant bowl rest of the league year because of it now ugh. Theres only 5 weeks left so not that big of a deal. The funny part is I downed a 6 pack in less than an hour to get through the next 3 games. The alcohol helped the pain but not the bowling. I think I saw 20 pins at one point.

I mailed a coin (54S-IDB listed on Cuds-on-Coins) to Ray over 3 weeks ago, he never got it. That's the 3rd I've lost mailed from my Post Office.

In my tale of woes... Our "Regular" Letter Carrier knows us all pretty much by address (I live in a townhome - we have "Gang" Mail boxes set in various spots in the development of 240 homes) and many be sight. I rarely have a problem getting all that has been sent to me. Since much of the mail is tracked -- I can watch it on its way. When our regular guy goes on Vacation -- all hell breaks loose. My house has a 5 number address, on a street Name. Well there are 2 other homes that have the same numbers... I have found items sent to the wrong house - I have had the wrong stuff sent to me and have seen "Delivered" mail (on the tracking app) just not show up. I file on each and am told they will lookinto it and get back when they find something -- well 2 years on some -- haven't heard a thing.
Sometimes I do get items dropped in my yard or in my door up front -- obviously from the other simularily numbered homes. I have gone to both and dropped mail I get (only 1-2 things) but am missing about 4 (Separate) coins worth about $50 total....
I am at the mercy of the PO

I used to bowl Jacob, but it has been many years. My comment was actually a joke that the Post Office seems to bowl with some of the heavier packages I send. They are totally crushed by the time they get to where they need to go. No 'careful' handling on many of these boxes I send.

I've had a few things lost and a few they practiced bowling with and get a lot of mail addressed to similar addresses.
Overall pretty good luck with most packages getting through.

Also had a few miracle deliveries like things where the sender scribbled an illegible address but it still got here and one group of rolls poorly packed by the sender in a flat rate envelope with no padding that arrived in a clear bag from the PO marked damaged, the envelope was soaking wet and had a tire track on it and was shredded but they had found every coin and put them in the bag and I think found the invoice and used that info to get it here. All the cents were there and ok

Words to the wise... The post office 2 day priority mail is not guaranteed to be delivered in 2 days... It can take 7 days The only mail they guarantee is express... My package now shows delivered to its destination!!!

C'mon guys. They make it VERY CLEAR:

"Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds."

Nowhere does it say they will get it there in one piece, or in original condition, or in any certain time period.

I'm amazed I can send a letter (or a coin) across the country for 40 cents. That's awesome and I have no expectations beyond that. The PO has never ever lost anything of mine in the mail. Although, my tenants' rent check seems to get "lost" every month for some reason.

I got the phrase it was just a phrase I haven't heard in awhile and assumed you were a bowler to use that phrase or liked bowling. I know what you mean bout them handling bigger packages especially packages marked FRAGILE.
