    1979 Canada 1C Clash?

Though I can't make out the areas clashed, I'm assuming its a clash. Sorry, have not developed the trick of placing arrows. I think you can figure it out though. Mostly in the center of the reverse. Don't look like die cracks or gouges.

That's a cool find! I would say clash as well. It seems to affect quite a few area's. I see a one between the big v shaped notch at the top of the larger, right leaf as well in the central areas.

I am saving a lot more of my Canadian coins to look at on a rainy day. I used to just chuck them in the copper pile with the rest of the US, but I feel a growing urge to resort those back out. Not any time soon though! I am working on my Canadian coin contacts as we speak. It would be nice to find a Canadian Bob Piazza wouldn't it?

I too have oodles of Canadas put aside that I have not looked at. I think they are sleepers. There appear to be very few errors and varieties reported. That may be for lack of interest but of all the ones I have looked at (and there are many) I find very few errors or varieties. I have found just one DDR.

I agree. I think Canadian coins are sleepers for varieties as well. I lucked out at a recent coin show and had a dealer bring in a ton of canadian errors and varieties. I got them all (at least 100) for .10 cents each. Most of them were the "hanging dates" which are die clashes, but there is a nice Repunched date for 1962 and the 1967 dove reverse also has a nice Repunched date. I will drag those out and post some of the nicer ones. In my readings today I saw a really nice tripped die new discovery on a large cent. I bet there is a ton of stuff. Mostly ignored, but not for much longer I bet!

I just started looking through several rolls that has a lot of wheat and Canadian cents . It never crossed my mind to check for doubled dies or varieties until I realized that most of the other coins were varieties...thanks for posting. Unfortunately I put them in a container with all the other Canadian coins that I've accumulated over the years.
