I have been spending a lot of time lately searching local online auctions for coins. I came across some coins graded by companies I have never heard. The first is SGS. After doing a Google search it looks like they are an international company that does various certifications, authentications and verifications on a lot of things. The second is CGCS. After a Google search I came up with nothing. Any information anyone might be able to provide would be AWSOME.

SGS is affectionately known as Steve's Grading Service. It a guy who slabs cleaned and over graded coins in his garage. I would stick to the big 3: PCGS, NGC, and ANACS. You can ocasionally find very nice coins in ICG, PCI and SEGS holders as well. Outside of the companies listed, I'd say absolutely buy the coin and not the holder. I mean, I say that anyway.Comment

Thanks for the feedback. I thought a 1941D that looked like a circulated RB was a little off when the label read MS70. Plus there was no type of certification numbers on them. I will steer clear of them.Comment
