    PCGS and Red Book Varieties

    Morning everyone,
I've spent the last few min on the web looking for PCGS red book varieties and I cannot find the list anywhere. I remember it somewhere but for my luck I cannot find it. Anyhow. I noticed PCGS now recognizes 38-D/D RPM#2 Buffalo in the registry set. Is this one in Red Book and that is why it's listed??? I know PCGS lists the 37-D 3 legged without the FS # for just the cost of slabbing. If I send a 38-D buffalo RPM#2 as 38-D/D will it come back this way?? I may add the RPM#2 and see if they will do it for the cost of just slabbing. Thanks for any help. Eric

I believe that if the variety is listed in the RED BOOK then it is listed by series in another author/specialty/book line that is recognized by PCGS
those book/author/specialty lines are listed here

They have at least one D/D in the free list. If yours is that one then they will. I don't see where they say if it's RPM-2 or not so look at their pic and if it matches they will.

If it matches you can submit it using 1938 D/D 93984 as the coin number to get it listed on the holder as D/D for the regular fee.

      Is it this one?

Yes that is RPM#2. I was wondering if it was shown in the red book.

This link does not give me anything specific to certain coins. This does not help.

I don't have the newest RB but it is not in mine. It does have the D/S.

There are 13 free variety/type buffs in the list I use.

For 38 there are just 2.

The link onecent1909 sent is how you do it if you are paying the extra fee, my info is the ones they do free. Use that info if you are paying.

              For the free stuff:
I was using my hardcopy but I found the link to it online.
You use the number from the coin numbering system on your form, if it has a number in the list they do it for normal fee.
Click the coin number to see a pic to verify yours matches.

              For buffs:

Ok Ed, So how old is your redbook? Not being smart just it's 38-D/D is not in my 2007, and I'm trying to figure out why they now list RPM#2 which is the coin you sent me the pic of. I have what I need with your help. Thank you, I was just trying to figure out why they list this one now except it's a common variety everyone should have a copy of.

My 2010 does not list it.

It does seem odd, it's not that special of a coin so I don't know why they put in the list of free ones if it's not in the RB.
                  I don't know the answer.

It also seems too much like any of thousands of RPMs so if it got in the RB, I don't know why LOL.
