$20 note numbers in middle of word

There is the numbers 540 printed on the word 20 US a light colored words. Are these from a stamp or from The mint? Is it worth anything if it is a mint error?

Looks like a post mint stamp to me... Some ones way to keep track of how many they have??? Is the security strip embedded in the note???

        INFO 4 U:
I want to preference this with I don't want to sound mean... just info 4 U
I am really not "That Guy" but you can not tell with me just typing.

This is not a Mint action, It is a Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) action
Two different agency directed by the U.S. Treasury Department.

This happened after it left the BEP... the BEP in Washington DC not in Fort Worth.
Nowhere would the BEP have a stamp like this in the production process that I know of.

On the top right of the front of the bill you see "C355".
That is the number for the plate used to create this bill
It was created in Washington DC.
We can tell by that number
A bill made at the BEP in Fort Worth Texas would have a "FW" before the letter number set
        EX "FW C355"

So it is PBD... Post Bureau Damage... LOL

Thank you for that information! I did not know that. Next time I won't know that. I am still learning the notes. It is hard for me to tell the difference. Thank you again for the information.

Awesome info... Thanks... Nothing like learning something new every day... I should have put 2 and 2 together and remembered that the mint and BEP were separate... I'll blame it on my pain meds
