    1968 dime weird edge

Here are 2 different 1968 dimes. One seems to have a normal edge with one side silver color and the other side copper. On the other dime, there is silver lining both sides of the edges with copper in the center. Is this normal? I just have never noticed it before. And it weighs 2.15 grams

Yep. Pretty much normal for clads.

Which side of which coin is copper color... The color in your images look the same to me except for the edge pics... I think the outer layers are a copper nickel mix but I do not remember for sure... Both sides should have the outer layer... If you have one side with out the layer and it weighs correctly then it may be a wrong planchet???

They are both normal clad dimes.

The left one is normal, the reason you see the copper in the center and on one edge is that it smears the center copper when they punched it out of the clad strip, very normal.

The right one is normal too, sometimes when I find clad dimes with my detector the copper center is more pronounced and sort of looks like an Oreo cookie like you could almost pry it apart. I think it's something that happens when buried. That coin might have been buried, dug, cleaned up and now the copper layer is more pronounced and looks recessed a bit. Just normal for dug clad dimes. Notice the coin looks cleaned up like a dug and cleaned coin.

The rim on the second dime has had more circ or flattening on it rolling the edge over the cladding giving it a unique look.

I don't know anything about dimes, but the girl has it going on with her background matching those coins!

Viv, unfortunately when we moved 2 weeks ago, I had to let my big desk go. We got rid of all of our furniture. We started with all brand new furniture. My big desk was way too big to fit into our new place. I had to get a smaller one, which is about half the size of my big desk. So, the back ground is a different color now.

How cool to get some new furniture, but I bet you are gonna miss your bigger desk! Oh well, we figure out a way to make it work! That is too funny the color just happened to match those dimes! I think that color will really make Lincoln's pop too! Glad you are getting settled in and having more time to search, it's time for another really nice Sheila find! Enjoy your new place!

Speaking of Oreo's and since it's early in the am I'm going to share a secret. But don't tell anyone. We don't want there to be a shortage of them when word gets out!
(Keep this on the PQ. Put an Oreo in your coffee if you like mocha flavor and let me know your verdict
. I can't wait to get to the Oreo sludge on the bottom of the cup!! )
