Mint Sealed Bags Of State Quarters

    Hey Friends,
Was picking up coins today and found a bank that had LOTS of these sealed mint bags of state quarters. I don't collect them but thought maybe there could be some value in getting them at face value and then reselling them? Looked to ebay and they were selling them at a slight profit. Do you all think it may be worth grabbing those coins? Would there be a certain state and mint mark that may bring a larger profit?
    Thanks

Most of them won't get much or any premium. The state quarters did a good job of getting people into the hobby but lots of them saved rolls of each coin. Many lost interest or brought them in to dealers because a roll set tied up a lot in face value. Most dealers would only pay about $12.50 a roll but have so many rolls they aren't buying even at face. There might be a few better dates, maybe the early ones or bags to look for the high/low leaves but in general most are face value.

You never know, on ebay someone might pay a premium for sealed bags. I think the mint did sell rolls with a mint wrapper and small bags of some, you'd need to look for info, those might have some premium but only to the right buyer.

I assume you are referring to the $25 small bags. It has been opined that Delaware, Pennsylvania, Connecticut and I believe New Jersey are expected to be of some premium value in the long run. I keep the ones I find worthy in pocket change. Delaware has a very valuable variety affecting the IGWT but presently I do not recall if its a clash or some other anomaly. It is naked eye obvious. The rest have some DDRs but nothing of real value. I don't collect quarters and don't claim to have much knowledge about them but I have bought some of those bags at face value. If you can get them at face and don't mind tying up the funds, I would not hesitate buying at least the four above mentioned.

Maybe the best variety in the series is the 2009-D DC with the doubling on the piano keys.
That one brings big money but few were found.

          LINK to see it

I have 3 $25 mint bags - Penn., Minn., and Wisc. 2004-D that I'm saving/forgotten about. The Minnesota's have tons of "extra tree" varieties but only a few carry a significant premium. Wisconsin has the extra leaf varieties that carry a nice premium. Pennsylvania Philly mints in PCGS 67+ - $250 and the 18 coins that graded MS-68 - $3000 per PCGS guide. Several of the States quarters value in the thousands in 68 or above but, man, it's a scary proposition shucking out $50/coin to find out! All of mine look spotless but I'm not good enough to confirm a 68. Wishful thinking I might gamble on when I get rich!
