Jim I don't know how familiar you are with actual woodgrain but it's odd on mine, the obverse looks like normal woodgrain and the reverse looks like what they call Quarter Sawn woodgrain. Just thought it was odd.https://www.quarter-sawnflooring.com...-sawn-products
There is some thought that the tight grain like that is actually caused from contaminated rollers used to thin out the planchet stock... My opinion is that even the tight grain woodies are related to a poor mix but I don't know for sure either way... They look cool to me tho so I keep them!!!
