Actual feeder finger from the Denver mint?

This Lincoln cent Feeder Finger from the Denver mint LINK is up for sale on ebay.

I've never seen one before and thought it was interesting as we discuss Feeder Finger damage to dies.

    Part of the sellers description
"This is a U.S. 1c feeder finger which was used for striking Lincoln cents at the Denver Mint. The feeder finger is one of a small group that came out of the U.S. Mint, and were struck at the Moonlight Mint using the original Grabener coin press that the feeder fingers would have been used on.

The cent sized feeder fingers are one of the scarcer of the types, with around 25 existing. The press was in operation from 1986-2001 at the Denver Mint, which is therefore also the era for this feeder finger."

Not really sure how accurate the description is.

    Interesting to see the shape,

Sounds like those feeder fingers came from Daniel Carr, I remember him posting on CU about buying a press from the mint.
He's the guy that makes the 1964 peace dollars that people go crazy over, they're actually collected by a lot of coin collectors.

Check out the coins he makes:

Private high-quality over-strike on genuine 1922-1935 coin. Do not attempt to use as legal tender. NOT endorsed or approved by the US Mint, US Treasury, or US Government.

It must be, it has the same logo added to the feeder finger as in your link, Moonlight Press.

Thank you for the link and info Cliff! This is really interesting! Now we can finally see what has been causing all of those feeder finger scrapes! Geez... no wonder, that's a big metal thing! Seems like I read somewhere that the feeder finger was made of a break-away plastic so perhaps this one that is metal was before the plastic.
