    Germany 5 pfennig doubled wheat?

Does the coin look slightly doubled on both sides to you? I don’t know anything about these coins. Doubled A on reverse? Wheat on the obverse? 5ED7CFE0-A2E6-4CB2-B102-88D2A4E8AF38.jpeg 49FC71FA-C268-483D-B3E9-3E166ECD4411.jpeg EC03FAFA-0FFB-47CD-A6D4-DD968FC937AD.jpg 2788ED13-4899-46BE-B3D3-7E982B854DF8.jpg 4DBA9D11-5894-4F33-8E52-AAA5D8A20B88.jpg 0998A31B-C9D6-4FA2-A3E2-4230994AAEF5.jpg

I see what looks like some MD on the stalks and I think a lot of the rest is a worn out die and circulation. I've noticed that MD and even Hub Doubling is much more common on many foriegn coins though, especially the 1800's and early 1900's. I don't think quality control was on the top of their list of priorites.

Thank you for the information. I have no idea about these foreign coins.

They are pretty easy to get your hands on for cheap. You can buy foreign coin lots for little of nothing on eBay. I've messed with them for fun for years and recently hooked up with a guy that cleans out houses and he has me search them and then sell them off. If you see any you would like, let me know and I'll send you a few.

I have a couple of those. I collect some of those also. As I come by them. I generally ask about them because I have no clue about foreign coins. I have a hard time finding much information about them online. I am not very good at research. I see that they are not worth much, but I have a hard time finding out much information about them.

Here are a couple of sites I use that may help.

I also plug in as much info as I can find on the coin on eBay and find out quite a bit sometimes from listings that pop up.

FYI- If you can find a KM# for a coin, add that and NGC to the search and the NGC site will have a lot of info also.

Cool... Seems everyone liked to copy our wheaties What may help on coins we know little to nothing about would be to compare like items on the coin... In this case it would be the wheat... Compare from the out side in and we see that the seeds and leaves are nearly identical with the exception of die and circ wear... Also remember that, for the most part, foreign coins are susceptible to the same errors/varieties we have on American coinage... It also a good idea to have some one that knows more chime in and help us out... Thanks Jon for the links... Now if I could learn to follow my own guidance Hope that helps a bit!!!
