So, I saw this thread posted by uglycent this morning and it reminded me of a coin I got from my grandfather years ago. I've searched for 2 hours and finally found it. Looking at PCGS Coin Facts, if I'm seeing correctly, I believe this is a transitional coin with the head 1836. I believe it is also the Small 8 and stars. Can anyone confirm this for me? Thanks for looking.

Be verwy verwy quiet... I'm hunting coins!!!
Plus I learn a little some thing in the process... As for the stars on the rim I would think it is a doubled die??? I know nothing of these but coin making has been basically the same since some one realized it was easier to put a piece of silver or gold in the pocket instead of a cow or goat
