    Thank You Coinstar!

My weekly trip to a Coinstar machine produced a couple of unexpected scores for me. I usually check the discharge chute for previous rejects before placing my Lincoln's in the hopper. I was welcomed with a silver dime. Then once the machine started collecting my coins another silver dime was sent in the discharge chute! Not sure why the machine did not accept these silver coins but I will not look a gift horse in the mouth. Attached are a couple of pictures.

That's a nice score. I guess it doesn't matter why the machine rejected them huh?

They are almost a quarter gram heavier than clads.

I have wondered if coins sometimes get stuck in the counter of Coinstar machines and you just proved that they do! Congrats on the two silver dimes! I guess it just takes awhile for the stuck ones to make their way down to the reject bin

Certainly it does not matter to me. He He! It is a mystery to me though considering Coinstar is "smart enough" to reject foreign coins. Most notably pennies from Canada regardless of whether they weighed 3.24 grams or the reduced weights starting in 1980.

That makes sense and for me I was grateful for the delay!

Some of the modern ones are magnetic, they might have a magnet that catches them but I think it does get all of them, not sure how.
