I found this 1979 Canadian Cent with a clipped planchet in a customer roll yesterday. Over the years I have found thousands of copper Canadian Cents but this is the first one with a clipped planchet. I believe it is displaying the Blakesley effect. What do the experts here think?
Thanks.
It most certainly is a genuine clip and I do believe it's the first Canadian cent with a clip that I have ever seen. Very well done and a beautiful example.

Nice find ! I look at Canadians when I find them in a roll for double dies. Never thought about finding a clip. I would think the odds are astronomical that one would show up in a U.S. roll.
