Hi. I came across not a penny, but a dime which appears to have both sides of the coin missing the clad. I know this is a Cent site, but generally speaking...
If this were a Modern Penny and the copper was missing, would a gash show the missing copper or the zinc? Picture of the gash included that shows silver.
Also, that damage you see on the bottom left obverse seems to align with the elongated rim. sorry, don't know the exact terminology. Can that be mint damage? Since it seems to align with the elongated Rim. Sorry if my terminology is off. Thank You
