    Coin conservation

Call it cleaning, acetone dip, mineral oil, whatever it be
I need a guy who knows what they are doing to conserve my coins preslab. I am not going to try to understand the proper way with all the controversy going around. I have a handful of 88 transitionals, major varieties ,DDOs that I need conserved or what have you before I send off for attribution and then slab. This would be a repetitive process where we could work out the details. What I don't want is my coins coming back labeled cleaned, improper color. rejected or undergraded etc. Basically I am not touching them, and I won't attempt to.
Any recommendations would be appreciated or pm me.

I would not even think of sending my coins to somebody to clean or conserve for me before I send them to a tpg. Bad bad idea, and i think it would be unlikely to find a such a person who would be willing to do it for you. If your sending them to Ngc, they have ncs. They conserve coins. That being said i don't believe your coins would hardly worth the added expense. Just send them in and get what you get.

I agree completely. Why even take a chance and have someone else do it? In my mind, there is too much risk involved in a move like that.

I seriously doubt anyone would be willing to do conservation for you, especially considering you insist they not come back as cleaned. Conservation is very tricky and the outcome (even by NCS) cannot be guaranteed. NCS rejects many coins submitted for conservation because either they simply cannot predict the outcome or the coin is already a "goner".

I would echo previous sentiments that it is unwise to clean or conserve coins unless there is some sort of crisis like corrosion needing to be halted. You could always send them to NCS, they will slab it with a NGC details holder.
