    Before - After Verdi-Care 1913S

I had a badly corroded coin (dirty too) but I did not want to ruin what little value it might have, so I purchased Verdi_care (thanks BadThad)... And here are the Before/After. I only soaked for 2 hours and did the ABSOLUTE least to teh coin - and let it dry over night...
I tried to duplicate everything from picture to picture... It will not allow me to upload the original mounted picture (from my album).. Hmmm But the before afters other than that are here...

Thanks for sharing! This is exactly the type of application I developed the product for. A coin that's worth saving but not something you want to ruin.

Nice try, you have some very tough verdigris on the obverse and I don't think it can be safely removed. One last thing to try would be to put a drop over that area, let it sit for 15 minutes and gently work it with a toothpick. I think you might see a little improvement, but it won't be all removed.

I've battled with this exact type of verdigris before and it's impossible to remove without damaging the coin. As an experiment, I've taken coins like this into the lab and used acid on the verdigris just to see what happened. It was quite ugly under the verdigris, basically a nasty patch of sandpaper pitting. Of course, the test mules were completely ruined. LOL

Did the same thing to a couple very similar Bad and had same results. 99 percent of the time, Verdicare really works to free up the junk. And the coin looks great afterward.

Hey,...would anyone know if Verdi-Care is available anywhere in or near Vancouver B.C.? Oddly enough, I've visited a great many coin shops over the years, here and elsewhere, and regardless of why I'm there, I never fail to pursue my unending quest to find a safe cleaning agent for my Lincoln Cent Collection. -(they always have something in stock)- When I specify the need for a product guarenteed to be a -(numismatically)- safe, non-altering, cleaner suitable for use on old, rare, and valuable coins,...no one has ever stuck out their neck. For good reason, too. However, I've yet to hear anything negative about Verdi-Care. I can't wait to try it out. I Love best the infinite effects which age and random fate through circulation combine to achieve, over and over, in transforming a generic, mass produced, indistinguishable, "one of six billion" Lincoln Cent into something so uniquely rare and fascinating. Thanks in advance!

BadThad in post #2 is the brain behind it. Send him a PM and see if he ships to the great north.

I don't ship out of the USA. The cost associated normally exceeds the cost of the product. Also, different countries have specific regulatory requirements that make shipping chemical products into them difficult and not worth my effort. I'm not in this to get rich.

Honestly, VC has become more popular than I ever wanted it to be. Almost daily I'm sent requests for shipping outside the USA and it's just something I'm not interested in at this time. In truth, I designed VC for my own, selfish needs! It was with some reluctance that I even let the cat out of the bag but I didn't want to hold back something so useful to collectors like myself. I took on wizard coin supply as a distributor to take the pressure off of me. As I understand, they are willing to ship overseas but I have nothing to do with it. Most buyers back out when they realize it can cost $20+ to ship $10 worth of product. I don't really have a desire to setup overseas distributors either. Making the product is very time consuming, I have a life and I don't want to spend hours and hours making product. The demand in the USA is big enough as it is for just one chemist!
