Seems a tad expensive for a 2MP "camera". I rather spend the money on a scope and use a crappy digital camera and shoot through the lens.

I had one of those. I really was not impressed. I only had it for about 2 months before I bought my AmScope

I use a AmScope with 20x and a Canon power shot A470. The only thing with Amscope you can't take a whole picture of a coin. But thats were the camera comes in. On my amscope I bought another camera to slide into the eye peace. MU1000. It takes great close ups.

There are many different scopes to use. I have a old model that ran around $500. Best thing is go to there site and get there phone number and give them a call. Tell them what you're doing with it and how much you want to spend.

I have the MD400, but it is not compatible with Windows 7, which is what I have on my computer. So it is hooked up to an older laptop with Windows XP. There are many to choose from depending what you are wanting. Check them out at http://www.amscope.com

Those seem aweful expensive for what they are, I got something similar on amazon for like 30 bucks.

                    HERE

I used it a couple days before I got sick of it. Do yourself a favor and get a amscope. you wont regret it.

I usually only ever use WF10x and WF5x for full coin shots. I have the WF20x that I paid extra for but I never use them. Just never needed to get that close (60x). 45x is the highest I would recommend going for coins and it might save you some money.

Ok , so do i need the other type of lens for the close up of say mint marks etc or will the wide lens work fine for those shots too?

The WF10x does great on RPM's. If you're wanting clear pictures of an rpm, it would really depend on your camera. I've had no problems identifying rpms (even ones too minor to list) with the WF10x eye piece.

OK so after searching comparing , searching comparing till my eyes hurt I finally decided to order this, same one I posted before lol. I will look for a camera now, well tomorrow.....saw a few on eBay , I didn't get the one that they sell for the scope since I need a camera for other things anyway and as I have read on here that some of the guys just use a normal camera through the eye piece lens.
