Can anyone recommend a decent macros lens for taking full coin shots that won't break the bank?

Sean,
I picked up a micro ring attachment from Ebay for about 40 bucks that fits on my Canon 28-70mm zoom, and though it requires some getting used to with manual focusing, and a tripod, it works fine. I use it for all my shots that I don't need the zoom of the scope.“What can be asserted without evidence can also be dismissed without evidence.” -
Make sure you find one that fits your intended lens, but this is the type that I have. The macro filter just screws onto the front of the lens.

Here are a couple of shots that I took with it just to give you an example. It suits my purposes just fine for under $20(I see they've dropped in price since I got mine.)Attached Files“What can be asserted without evidence can also be dismissed without evidence.”Comment

Jody, I think you gotta work on your photography a bit. The photo of the 1955 was so shaky that there's a double image.

That photo was taken before I got the tripod.

You can go even cheaper with a set of extension tubes. A Vivitar 75mm, adapter to M42, M42 extension rings, and adapter to EOS will cost you about $50 for all and will give you picture quality equal to most any macro lens as well as more flexibility. The extensions make changes slow (like if you want to photograph Dollars, then Cents, you have to change extension lengths) but otherwise there is no better solution, especially for the price...RayBuilder of Custom Coin Photography Setups.
