    Is this the right Jansjo?

Found these, 2-pack Janjo's. Are these the right ones? Tracy... I tried to find the thread where you talked about which particular ones to look for and couldn't.

These are 24" tall, is that okay?

Roller, will the 24" tall one allow you to bring the light down level with the base if needed (without falling over)? My scope is sitting on my desk so I need the light down low.

      What are you using now?

Yes you can manipulate the light in that way. The base is weighted. I use axial lighting exclusively for my full coin shots and I have a ring light that is attached to my tri-ocular scope for exam and photos. I use a 2X magnifying adapter for my camera and a 3X reducing lens on my scope so that I can see the whole coin when examining.

Thank you Roller! Do you have a pic of your setup on the forum?

I just googled axial lighting and found one for Jon since we were just talking about this the other day. Jon... scroll down a tad and look at the size of that "softbox"

          Safe link

Yes there are pictures of my set up on the site. Although there may be several posts with different ones as I progressed to where I am now. May not be under axial lighting but should be in the photo section. In either case, I think I used the words set up in the heading.

Roller, I found this one... what a Lincoln searching factory you have! But I can't find your axial lighting setup, still looking.
Started a new method a few weeks back. I picked up the magnifying lamp at a garage sale but found the 3 diopter reading magnifier inadequate for examining coins so I ordered a 5 diopter (1.75 magnification) and that works just fine for general culling or undesirables. But I needed an intense magnifier spot magnifier to

Thank you Roller, found it! Very interesting and complicated looking, maybe one day. But for now I see those Jansjo's creeping in the background, more my speed

Here's the link to Roller's set up, Post #28! Very cool looking!
My first attempt at axial lighting. Needs a lot of work. The coin has an iridescent sheen which can be clearly seen in the images. Please let me know what you think. Ill continue to post photos as I improve the system. Thanks much for all your comments and advice. Over and out, styxman
