Error Other | 1982 Lincoln Clip Error?

So this looks like a slight off-center strike but I'm interested in what looks like a clip. Can you guys tell if it's a legitimate clip or just a hit/PMD? Thanks!

A clip would show on both sides of the coin. The missing metal was shorn off after the minting process on this coin. That is further supported by the striations appearing across the surface of the cut.

Yes, both sides of the coin. I was thinking the something but wasn't sure. Thanks for the reality check Roller!

The clip would have missing metal on the blank or planchet.
the remaining metal of the planchet would flow into the die, but not be able to fill every design element because of not enough metal

IF this was a true clip the "TES oF" in "states of" would "fall" or slop into the clip area as the metal would try to fill in the clip and not fill in the S on the die.
Metal flows to the area of lest resistance.

That's what I was wondering. Is it a zinc plated cent or copper cent?

Looks like it's copper. 3.1g of copper = 0.35 cents!

Believe it or not that is an error. I found one similar a few years back and Mr. Diamond pointed it out when everyone else thought it was damage. Send a pic to him. I have it put away but can't remember what the correct term for it is.

Okay, to clarify you're saying that clip area is actually a mint error?

Yes, it not a clip, it's something else. I'll try to find it.
