Am I correct in calling this MM repunched?
CopperCoins 1981D-1MM-001
In God We, looks kinda fat like
CopperCoins 1981D-1DO-001, but I honestly cant tell I dont think there is any seperation that I can tell. Sorry, I dont know how to put links in here.

Unfortunately the mint mark position on your coin rules out the Coppercoins doubled die as well as Wexler's since they are the same die. Since mint marks were punched into the dies by hand up until and including 1989 the mint mark position of the doubled die and on your coin would have to be exactly the same. Your mint mark looks more south and east than the DD example.

Sorry, but can't really tell about the RPM. This is a time when a close up of the mint mark would be needed in order to tell.

Yeah my scope aint too far away, im hoping it solves my problem, thank ya for looking... My eye cant get close enough to see splits in seriffs so hopefully my scope will it suppose to go to 1000x is that enough you think?

Well good, I know you will be glad to get your scope in! That's way more magnification than you will need, you can start at around 20x for close up things like mint marks and see what you think about it!

I was rereading this thread. Your question above and Viv's reply made me wonder.
I am trying to clarify my confusion regarding your question.

All MM locations for a variety (otherwise known as a die pair) will be in exactly the same spot. This is why MM location makes a great place to start to ID a variety. Also referred to as a marker or PUP (Pick Up Point)

But the MM location for different die pairs and different years will vary.

Thank you for clarifying this Cliff. Also the same thing about mint mark location applies to RPM's up to and including 1989. Since I was referring to doubled dies (and I forgot to mention RPM's)... and you are referring to Die Varieties, here is the definition of a Die Variety.

Die Variety: An abnormal coin struck from a die that had a mistake made during the transfer of its design onto the die. Die varieties include doubled dies, re-punched and misplaced mint marks, over mint marks, dual mint marks, and re-punched and misplaced dates. (The practice of punching the date into the die stopped before the Lincoln Cent series began, so there are no re-punched or misplaced dates on Lincoln cents) These are NOT considered “errors.”
