I've put a few WAM's back in circulation....there is always somebody that will be happy
-
I would be one of those happy to find it no matter what the condition it might be
. Of course, I have found several cents that I have no clue what they are because they have been damaged so bad. Now those I do throw back into the wild.

About 15 years ago I rolled up 5000 wheats and took them to the bank (we lived in a small town back then) so they could circulate around and maybe get somebody interested in collecting Lincolns. About a week later I saw a bunch of those rolls in an antique mall close by and they were priced at $9.00 a roll. Never did that again.Rock

Lol, that's hysterical Rock! Perhaps dispursement was the issue. Coulda rolled them with memorials.Chris & Charity Welch- LIVEANDIEVARIETIES

I never throw Wheats or varieties back into circulation. Especially when it comes to varieties, chances are that by doing so, the coin is lost for good to anyone who would even care about it. I'd much rather give them to someone that I know is needing one and would appreciate it.“What can be asserted without evidence can also be dismissed without evidence.”Comment

I'll attest to that fact....there are quite a few members on here like that and Jody's one of them

Great idea!
I am loathe to spend a wheat or any copper/brass cent even in the worst condition, however, I think I will alter that philosophy a bit (for many reasons).I never throw Wheats or varieties back into circulation. I would not spend the cents, but I would take some of the more worn and common dates and compile runs of perhaps 5-10 years and use them to promote the hobby.
I think I will start a new thread to cultivate other ideas for these coins that have value no matter their condition.Comment
