    Trail Dies?

Are coins with trail dies worth anything?

Depends on the strength of the trails. Can range from a buck or two and more for the more dramatic ones.

The stronger ones will bring a few bucks. Who knows if the market for trails will gather steam. Let's hope so.

I agree, the rather dramatic ones can be $5-20. Minor ones will languish with no sales. Maybe in a few years with more collector interest they'lll increase...

How dramatic does it have to be? Do u mean it has to show really strong trails?

If it is naked eye obvious, they'll sell on eBay for at least $5-10. They should sell for more if you ask me...

Trail dies are another underrated die variety in my opinion. They don't get as much publicity due to a lot of them not being dramatic enough, compared to a strong doubled die, and that they are more recent varieties, technically speaking. (Most, if not all common trails on lincoln cents are found on 1983 and later.) There are quite a few very strong trail dies though, I think 1994 and 1995 have some crazy-looking ones on the reverse. Their educational value is in the eye of the beholder.

Go to traildies.com. There are plenty of trails listings there to go through.
