I've never seen anything like it myself. It is not a sticker. The insert is between the sealed plastic. Also the serial number is on the reverse. Very unusual.

I ran the number yesterday morning. The # is correct but that's how the China deal works. They research the #'s to put on the slabs of all different co. so the un-knowing buyer looks up the # and it checks out; the correct # which means nothing towards a coins authenticity!

I have noted special slabs for high volume dealers too, I never seen this particular one. I'm sure it will be fine (I hope) but one has to be careful!

I know this seller for several years. Joe knows his die varieties. If it were a fake slab, he'd be the first to call it so. I also know that he gives full and absolute disclosure of every coin he offers. We've both commiserated that it's a real pain for a buyer to return a coin for unexpected reasons. He's just being overly cautious.
I've seen similar PCGS labels, not with a picture though. It makes sense that this is something that a TV shopping network would market. It would make less sense for Chinese counterfeiters to invent a new slab style, they want their fakes to blend in, not stick out.

And this is a great point Chris makes about a potential fake slab...

I wish they'd do the same for other varieties, I really like the photo-holder type.

Perhaps someone or more, should suggest this type of new style formatting to their slabs. Or even, maybe, tack on a buck or two more for the new 'visual' addition?
