I was reading a post earlier by "Scott99" who was sorting 2011's he bought as a 1/2 case (called 1/2 frogskin I think).... Anyway, he had found die trails off the 'e' of liberty and It appeared the supposition was that since this was a case of the same that he was going to find more or even more dramatic examples.
Again, pardon my ignorance, I'm not asking as presumptuious. When I buy rolls from bank, I don't generally get new series coins from the bank that are sequential or apparently direct from the mint. What I usually end up getting is a stack of handrolled dirty pennies that a bunch of crack heads banded together so they could buy a pack of smokes
. The question is this.... Can I get my bank to release me new series issue coins that will be part of the same stamping series (meaning like consecutive die punched coins)? Cause what the above sounded like is you bought a box of pennies from the bank that were all 2011P's and once the press had some sort of oil/grit/debris or crack, then the rolls have all the same simular characteristics. I guess I was thinking that the coins, after cut and cast were sorta loosely mixed before the rolling occured.
